The European Central Bank establishes the Euro Digital Innovation Center

The European Central Bank (ECB) has just announced the establishment of a Digital Euro Innovation Hub with the participation of 70 organizations, including Accenture, Swisscom, and CaixaBank from Spain. These organizations come from the fields of financial technology, telecommunications, and professional services, and will jointly study the payment functions and application scenarios of central bank digital currency (CBDC). The trial period is expected to last until October.

ECB President, Christine Lagarde, emphasized that the results of this "preparatory" phase will be a crucial basis for deciding on the official release once the law is passed. This collaboration focuses on applications from the merchant side and aims to verify the feasibility of the digital euro in daily transactions.

Participating organizations will receive technical support and conduct special testing for complex scenarios such as cross-border payments. This content is intended to provide market information only and does not constitute investment advice.
