HOW THEY WANTED TO PREVENT VITALIK FROM CREATING ETHEREUM.

Coinbase founder Brian Armstrong shares a story on the day Ethereum turns 10 years old:

"I met Vitalik in 2013 at a Bitcoin event called the San Jose Bitcoin conference, at that time Vitalik was contributing important writings to Bitcoin magazine.

After a few months, I invited our Coinbase office that we opened first in San Francisco for a visit, at that time he showed us some important things in his laptop.

So we decided to take him to work with me and Fred, and we contacted Olaf for him to join our team, but due to some challenges faced at that time, one of the challenges was the lack of a work visa for the U.S., which made it impossible for him to do anything but return to Canada.

"It was during his return to Canada that he had the opportunity to innovate Ethereum, as a result of that challenge he faced being one of the factors that helped in the innovation of Ethereum." Said the Founder of Coinbase.
