U.S. Treasury Secretary: Tariff revenue far exceeds expectations and will be used to pay off federal debt.

[Golden Finance] U.S. Treasury Secretary Besant stated that he expects tariff revenues to be significantly higher than the initial forecast of $300 billion this year, and that these funds will be used to begin repaying the massive U.S. federal debt. In an interview with CNBC, Besant declined to provide a new specific revenue forecast but mentioned that he and Trump are "fully focused" on reducing the debt. He stated: "I have previously said that this year's tariff revenue could be $300 billion, but I now must significantly raise this expectation."
