Vivek Ramaswamy Breaks Up with Elon Musk at DOGE, Considering Running for Governor of Ohio
Former presidential candidate and businessman Vivek Ramaswamy is no longer working with Tesla co-founder and billionaire Elon Musk at the Department of Government Effectiveness (DOGE) and is reportedly considering running for governor of Ohio. A report on January 20 from Politico stated that Musk publicly stated that he wants Ramaswamy to leave DOGE. Some of Donald Trump's political advisers are also said to have said that Ramaswamy has "broken" bridges and finally reached Musk. "Everyone wants him to leave Mar-a-Lago, leave DC," advisers added. The move to push Ramaswamy out of DOGE is said to be partly due to his criticism of American culture. Last month, Ramaswamy posted on X that "Our American culture has celebrated mediocrity for too long."
Ramaswamy's departure seems to be viewed positively by the cryptocurrency community. In the past 24 hours, the meme coin Department Of Government Efficiency (DOGE) has seen a price increase of over 14% to trade at $0.1547 as of 1:13 am Eastern Time. Vivek Ramaswamy is said to be running for Governor of Ohio Ramaswamy said in a post on the 20th of January on X: 'I am honored to support the creation of DOGE', before adding that he 'believes that Elon and his team will succeed in streamlining the government'.
Both the New York Times and CBS News reported that Ramaswamy will run for governor of Ohio. "I will soon talk more about my future plans in Ohio," he said. He also reiterated his support for President Trump. Ramaswamy also shared a post X from a fake account impersonating him saying that he is running for governor of Ohio. Crypto-supporting Republicans commented on the post, saying it's not "a bad idea". This occurred during the second term and also the final legal term of Ohio Governor Mike DeWine, which will end in January 2027. DYOR! #Write2Earn #Write&Earn $DOGE {spot}(DOGEUSDT)
